Friendly staff has been serving me for 8 years. The only place to go for roast lamb. But at just under $20.00 for the entree I usually order it to go, (skip the appie and the wine) to stay in budget and ru(bleep) home. |
2 | Mon Dec 8 23:27:48 2003 | Alberta | Coleman | Chris & Irvin's Cafe | 8.00 | |
Arrived at the Grand Hostel (a converted 100 year old hotel) for a two night gig at the bar. Tromped up and down the near ghost town streets marveling at the continuity of the archetitural style and age of the buildings. Found Chris and Irvin's. It was about 6:30 pm and it was busy. I remarked to my companion that either the food is good, or this is the only kitchen in town. I was right on both counts. Food was good, hot, respectable cafe fare. We had three meals there during our stay and were not disappointed. I took lots and lots of pictures of the buildings. The town would make an excellent location to film a '50s era movie. Coleman and it's people stole a piece of my heart. |
