Stylish, good-value bistro restaurant in the heart of Toronto's gay village but don't let that put you off if you're straight. Attractive decor, large windows providing views of the sidewalk traffic on Church St., friendly and efficient service, and well-prepared plus interesting menu items make for a great lunch or dinner experience. In addition, there's a very pleasant and popular patio during the summer months. |
2 | Thu Jun 16 22:19:06 2005 | Ontario | Toronto | Pilot Tavern | 8.20
The Pilot is a venerable mid-town tavern in Toronto (Yonge and Bloor area) with a loyal goup of patrons. There is nothing stylish or elegant about the decor but the welcome is warm, a great variety of good beers is on tap, service is efficient, and above average pub food is offered. During the summer months The Pilot has a very pleasant rooftop patio -- The Upper Deck -- that also offers a full menu. On many weekends, The Pilot also features live jazz performers. |
3 | Thu Jun 16 22:09:03 2005 | Ontario | Toronto | Little Bavaria Restaurant | 9.40
Little Bavaria's eat end stip mall location doesn't look very promising at first but it is attractive inside and serves the best southern German food that I have found in Toronto -- and at very reasonable prices. The lunch specials are particularly good value. A variety of german beers are on offer and service is friendly and efficient. |
4 | Thu Jun 16 22:00:55 2005 | Ontario | Toronto | Salad King Restaurant | 9.00
Saled King has a clean-lined, modern decor with dining at communal tables while seated on benches. It is very popular with the Ryerson University and young downtown lunch set. Service is quick and efficient at lunch (I have not eaten there in the evneing) and the food is always attractively presented and very tasty. It provides excellent value for good Thai food in lively, attractive, stylish surroundings. |
