When he came back to the table with the bill, he told me that I should likely stick to lower class restaurants, or stay home. Since I was paying for the meal for the table, I decided at that time not to tip him, and when he saw that he loudly commented on the "big fat tip" I gave him. However, since I did not eat, I felt that I shouldn't tip - as well as being told that I had no class - the service did not deserve a tip. As I left the restaurant he was heard by one of my tablemates telling another table that I ran an internet porn site. Another staff left the restaurant at the same time as me, and asked me what happened. The waiter ran out the door, yelling at me, and saying that he did not want me talking to his colleagues. He told me that I was being condescending to him, and at that point I walked off. Interesting point, is that as I was telling someone of my experience later in the evening, they had had a very similar experience at the same restaurant. I'd stay away. |
