I was enjoying a meal with my family when our server spilled a tray of drinks on my lap. I understand that mistakes happen, but it was how the staff dealt with this situation that bothered me. The server apologized, however she did nothing to compensate for the error. In this small and intimate restaurant, the manager was aware of what had occurred. In this situation I would have expected the manager to personally apologize and to offer my meal "on the house," or at least offer to pick up my dry cleaning bill. Instead, the staff chose to ignore the situation and carry on like nothing had happened. This turn of events reflects an immature management and serving staff, and I hope that Salute will learn to deal with this situation more appropriately in the future. |
