1 | Sat May 15 15:24:17 2004 | Bessie | 3.20 | Back in the early 90s, the Trillium was, hands-down, the largest and classiest eating establishment in the area, noted for its excellent roast beef and holiday buffets. It was owned by two men who were originally associated with The Briars, a prominent lake Simcoe resort. One was the manager and the other was head chef. This combination worked marvelously, however, the partnership was later severed, leaving the chef as sole owner. From that point on, the Trillium began its steady decline. Today, the restaurant is half way through being converted into a tacky pub-style establishment, where one can consume frozen chicken fingers, jalapeno poppers, and other mediocre pup fare. The old wine list is non-existent and the service is less than adequate. It has become nothing more than a watering hole, complete with stale cigarette smell hanging in the air. Dine at your own risk. This place has fallen off. |
