1 | Sat Nov 13 11:06:48 2004 | tastymouth1956 | 9.40 | When i walked into this restaurant i was stunned by how BEAUTIFUL it was on the inside, it was very impressive...the outside is deceiving (it looks very small) and the food was good portions and was very delicious. The food was also not very expensive compared to the large portions you get. From visits to Portugal and my love for fresh seafood this place tops my list as being identical to the food in Portugal. This restaurant was recommended to be by friends of mine and they were correct in saying that this restaurant was good. The service was friendly and the owner did engage in a conversation with us explaining that he was very proud of his family owned restaurant. |
2 | Thu Aug 12 23:50:41 2004 | paunchmanure | 6.80 | 1st visit was very dissapointing. One reason was that the place is absolutly GORGEOUS, and our food and service fell short. Our server was preoccupied playing with Karaoke equipment to serve us promptly (and the place was empty). The seafood platter and Halibut looked great like proper upsacale Portugese dishes with big portions, steamed potatoes and veggies. But both dishes did not taste fresh of seafood, and we both had stomach aches the next day, REALLY. I will give this place a 2nd try because there appears pride in the ownership, and the interior is stunning, and maybe they chef was out that day. I' m sure if business was busier on James North, this place would rock with the freshest food. |
3 | Mon Apr 21 13:45:21 2003 | blissful | 10.00 | The food was so amazing good and very tasty. I have eaten at other portuguese restaurants but this tops them by far. There was a wide selection of food, from their sea food platter(the best), barbecued cod, halibut, shrimp, mussels, and tons of other choices. And can i say reasonable prices-yes definatly. The atmosphere was an antique setting with high oak wood ceilings and fine detailing everywhere you looked. The service was great(its a family run business) so most of the prople working there were family or friends, it was great. please dont be fooled by the front appearance of the restaurant its absolutly beautiful on the inside and big!! |
