I love this place. I'm from the area originally but I crave quality food after a few days of saturated fat-laden home grub. The partridge berry muffins are laced with cocaine I'm convinced and the dark roast coffee is smooth. I even got hooked on listening to Matthew Hornell's "Have it All" album; truly, I did. This guy is going places! The waitress was a dream- very friendly with a shy sense of humour.

I went to a store to get 2 orders of chicken fingers with fries, dressing and gravy. It cost 18.59? I paid and waited 15 mins for the food, no prob. When the guy gave me the order, he never included any sauce with the order. I asked and he said "Nope, no sauce." I asked could I get some, and he went to get me some. When he came back he gave me one pack of that small sweet and sour, same size you would get at McDonald's, and I said, It is a 20 dollar order, could I get some sauce for the chicken. He went and came back with another one. Man??? I have a bit more than a single order, I would like a few sauces for the order. The manager came and asked what was the problem, I stated I just ordered 20 dollars worth of chicken and would like some sauce to go with it, little more than 2 would be nice... So she gave me a few in a bag and I left have rotted about the whole ordeal. But I figured it would be worth it when I ate. No luck! The fries were old, the gravy was runny and the chicken was ok, but not anything to boast about. I was out of time, for I was on my break and had to go back to work, so I had my relative call to complain about the food. When she called the manager answered and said to her that she remembered me and I was the one with the attitude...I could not beleive that she said that to her! I knew it was no sense to call and talk to her, for she had her mind already made up about things. There is no way that I could find to get a hold of Peter himself to complain, so I am in the process of doing that and figured I would submit this complaint, while in the process.

We regularly eat at the Swiss Chalet on Kenmount Road and we always have excellent service. One of the staff that works there is Sandra Pomroy and we know that today is her birthday. Sandra always greets us with a smile and provides top notch service. We would like to wish her a Happy Birthday today.

I used to look forward to visiting Greensleeves every visit home to NL until last week.The wings which were my favorite are now very small are overcooked. The waiter (or so called),was a young guy with an accent,who was by far the worst I have ever experienced.I have travelled much over the years and that was the 1st time I have not tipped 20%.He was so bad I gave nothing.Instead of being apologetic for passing our table and ignoring us for 15 minutes he gave attitude.He served 1 drink and the food with no utensils or napkins.Long after the food was finished and 30 minutes after the drinks were empty he came back to see if we wanted anything else. I had bragged to my American friend re the service and food here.What a complete letdown all around.

Me and my l33t friends go here and try teh kung pao. OMG its sooooo epic, like mad epic kung pao, its like kung PPIzZAOOOO!!! Fo' shizzles. Oh yeahs, teh waiter guy thats always doing his nunchucks and eating rice is teh mad hotness too. I wish sweet and sour sauce would come with the sweet and sour chicken though. So i gave it a 9 for that, yo.

I actually did not get to eat there. I was in a hotel in Goose bay and called to ask if i could find a menu on line. The person was awful, no we don't have a menu anywhwere, we have no spoecials, when i asked could she tell me briefly what they has she was put off and rude. i wan't to order for delivery as things are spread out in Goosebay and it was no where near my hotel. so i never got a menu, a recommendation on what to eat or even the trademark friendliness of labrador.

A group of ten of us went there Aug 2 for lunch. When the meal finally arrived three orders were completely forgotten about and three of the other orders were served with the wrong side (rice, ff, etc). Also, we were unable to order a salad because we were told they were out of greens/lettuce. There was a discount for the three meals that were earlier missed but really I cannot understand why there was so much confusion with the orders considering there were only three tables with customers.

I visted the Sundance on July 30, 2007. The service was pathetic. I was with a party of eight and we placed our order at 6:00 PM. At 8:00 PM there was still no sign of our food. During this time we had repeatedly asked our server if it would be much longer and we were repeatedly assured that the food was only minutes away. We waited another 15 minutes and finally I asked to see the manager who informed us that the kitchen never recieved our order and that if we wanted to place our order again it would be ready in another 30 minutes. There was no initial offer from them to cover the meals or drinks just a simple appology. Eventually, after my buddy pressed them about how rediculous this was, they finally agreed to give us our meals for free. However, we could only get was available on the grill and not our original orders. Myself and my wife simply left and went somewhere else. The place does have a nice atmosphere but the service is terrible. I was totally dissapointed and I would recommened anywhere else than here.

We visited this restaurant on July 23, 2007. It has a beautiful view of the ocean and while we were there, an iceberg happened to be passing by. The food was great. We had the Cod au Gratin, which was a little expensive for the size, but it was good. Could have been a little creamier, but overall delicious. Service was good, very friendly and courteous.

excellent little place, run well. unfortunately since it is the best place in the community, sometimes it gets crowdd and slow. food is delicious, imaginative, and super fresh. if you area bit tired of cod and fries, this is the place to eat. try the mango and beef salad. desserts are yummy, too. Beautiful items for purchase also. This is a good place to purchase gifts.

Chicken snacks are very tasty. Chicken club are so delicious as well as the pizza's. Great value for your money. My only complaint is thier hours they do not be open often enought.

We were travelling C.B.S. and were pretty road weary by the time we saw a little sign leading us down the hill to Brigus. Lunch was fabulous...a homemade sandwhich/soup combo that could easily have fed two. The craft shop out front was equally pleasing. There were lots of little treasures...I bought 2 teapot nightlights and wish I had room to bring more home. Worth the stop and a very pretty little town full of pure Newfoundland scenery! My wife and I and her 95 year old grandmother recently ate at this restaurant. The service was excellent the food was very good and very resoanbly priced view was marvelous and even a touch of authentic Newfoundland music playing. Would highly recommend. Jim Hart

I love A&W period. But my experience depends on which restaurant I visit. My first time eating at Kenmount Rd. wasnt the greatest but wasnt the worst either. Gravy/Root Beer/Poutine were awesome...but I also had chicken..by far the greasiest damn chicken I've ever had before.. I tried to pull some of the meat apart...but whenever I did the grease would start running out of the darn stuff. 1st & last time I've ever had A&W chicken. I'll stick with the Chicken fingers & Poutine next time! Yummo! Love the idea of having a tv above you to watch while you're eating,(especially when I was eating alone on that day) but the noisey workers decided to grab a seat a little closer to the tv and have a full on gab fest. Either get back to work or take a break, I dont need to hear annoying female teenagers cursing up a storm about last nights drunk adventure downtown! Rude!

The food was great.It was salty and the portions are much smaller than they use to be.Alot smaller and the waitress' are VERY rude and disrespectful. Very overpriced meal, received poor service from lady who spent more time complaining to other patrons at another table than tending to our meal. Had petite halibut steak that cost me over $25 for that with garnish....overcooked and not very tasty. We loved the bistro in Gambo but quality and service have definately deteriorated since moving to Gander.

We stayed in room 237 for 3 nights and I think that we should get an extra night free for the inconvinences that occurred. The toilet overflowed and we cleaned it up ourselves the first time then it overflowed the second time which the staff cleaned up. The second incident was the tap in the bathtub came loose and my son nearly scalled his leg as it was the hotwater that broke. For the off season the room rates were $99 per night which we thought was a bit to much. You would think that staying 3 nights you would get a little better rate than this. We also think that the manager could have expressed himself in a more professional manner than he did when he came to a room that we were in to tell us that we were making to much noise.

I reviewed this establishment in Feb. and noticed that the review has been removed and is now replaced by an extremely favorable one. My boss and I had a horrendous experience here. I had to send my steak back twice. I did not bother going for a third time. If your "cook" doesn't know how to prepare something black and blue or pittsburg rare, please don't claim that you can. Also your jumbo shrimp looked like they came off of a grocery store shrimp ring. The one redeeming point in your favor is a nice wine list that is not overpriced. Dave S

Quintanas indulges the customer in a cozy, friendly atmosphere with prompt service that looks after the diners every need. The staff is courteous and professional. While you are cared for there is much privacy and quiet for dinner conversation. To top it off the food is number one and Becky's margaritas are the template of margaritas everywhere!! Quintanas is one of my first stops when I visit St. John's Newfoundland. Truly first rate!!

I know from first hand experience that C and E Take Out is the best fast food place I have ever been to as my mother worked there for 13 years. The friendly atmosphere is only possible from wonderful ladies that very work hard everyday to make the take out run smoothly. The food is to die for and it is the first place I go when I return to Newfoundland from Nova Scotia. If you are looking for the best fries and gravy with a chocolate milk shake you definitely have to put the take out on your list of To Do’s. I have been gone away from home for 9 years now and the ladies still know how I like my orders done and it is always done to perfection. This take out is the only place I have ever heard of that a customer will walk into and place an order and fly it home with them on an airplane. How many people do you see doing that with other fast food places? Wonderful food Ladies and great work.

A group of about 30 of us were enjoying ourselves at the Woodstock Dec. 12 and we would have left very pleased if it wasn't for the fact that after a bill of over $800.00 we were made to pay for 2 meals of peaple who didn't make it. That ruined my overall experience and I will never set foot in that restaurant again. For a restaurant to do that is very poor for business. There were 2 other small tables in the restaurant at that time and I would have thought that our business would have been appreciated, but obviously it wasn't! I guess customers do not mean much to your restaurant. Word of mouth means a lot in the restaurant business and I have nothing good to say now. So much for customer satisfaction!

While the food was pretty good at Scamper's, I found the service left something to be desired. The thing that I didn't really appreciate was that when we ordered, my husband, who loves breakfast any time of the day, asked if they had all-day breakfast. The server looked at him and said, "Absolutely.....not." I thought that this was awful. When she first said "absolutely", my husband started to smile happily, but when she said "not", his face just fell. To treat a customer that way was ridiculous. If a customer asks about an all-day breakfast, obviously that's what they want. To get their hopes up and then tell them that it's not available is awful. We should have said something about it, but we didn't, and I think that if we had, the server might not have done the same thing to another customer.

A customer of yours was in your store in carbonear and overheard an employee bad mouth and put down another customer, little did she know that, that customer knew the people that she was putting down, and she came and told me. I think that it is uttterly disgraceful to have an employee working in that shop.I pesonnally will never walk inside that shop as long as she is working there.

Travelling across the island for the 2nd year in a row, we stopped for gas, bathrooms and brunch on Thursday, July 26. The meal was good but the "clean" bathrooms were a disgrace and this also applied to the Irving in Deer Lake...your stations were always very clean and now they are not fit...dirty, no towels, broked facilities...need I go on. We won't stop there again...too bad. It is time to take the "clean" sign down!

All the tables were dirty. The service was terrible. Staff members were sitting around while it got busy. Our order was given to another customer and we had to wait longer. Two staff members were serving, off duty, no uniform, no hair net or hat. Apparently they were not on duty but they were helping out. What amazed me was a female staff member was sitting watching while the two young men served who were not on duty. The young man apologized for the delay and made us a fresh order and gave us a free ice cream. He was a very nice young man...he was not on duty...just helping out. This is one of the worst places to eat in all of mount pearl. If you go on a tour of there kitchen it is unbearable. the service is ok but as soon as it gets busy the staff gets confused. poor, poor managerment of both kitchen staff and wait staff leaves this place begging for new staff, customers and relying on lotto machines to foot the overhead. This once was a great place and now it is the hairy mole on mount pearl. the new jim's takeout.

My first bad experience ever at an Irving Restaurant. Sunday August 17, 2003. My wife, two small children and I stop for dinner on the way home from central NF. Arrive at 6:25p.m., wait 15 minutes to get menus, wait 15 minutes to order, wait 1/2 hour still no food, meanwhile people had come, ordred, eaten and left. 7:30p.m. we get up to leave. Tell the cashier that we have now been waiting an hour, response, "oh well, sorry about that", there was no can I check to see if your food is ready or how much longer it will be! would not have been so bad if we never had a 3 year old and a 21 month old with us who were just in a car for 3 hours. Will never TRY and eat there again!
