We dont have very many resaurants in our small town so I cant be very picky but Lakeview could compete with any big city resaurant any time. The food is AWSOME. i enjoy every moment there.. there are many pool tables to choose from .. it is a very clean environment.. nice quiet area. low key, the food taste great with a satisfying price, and the employees are amazing and great with costumers. i recommend this place to all my friends and family... i am also recommended this place to my boss for our next staff outing! thank you q-stir n staff for my great experiences there, n hopefully many more to come

We often stop at the outside patio restaurant for lunch (arriving by land or by boat). We love the ambiance of the waterside. While service can sometimes be slow either due to a lack of waitress staff or a busy kitchen - but usually we are in no hurray, so it is OK. On this particular day in August, the waitress unfortunately misunderstood our order and brought us an extra plate of nachos. She was so nice, we didn't want to make a fuss, but we also didn't want to pay an extra $15.99 plus tax for this error in communications. She left the extra plate of nachos on the table and said she would talk to her Boss. The Boss/Owner actually marched right over to our table and said - "I don't know what you expect me to do with them...you ordered 2 plates, my waitress heard you order 2 plates - you have to take it". When I said that there was obviously just a misunderstanding and we didn't order 2 plates - he actually said/yelled (and I quote) - "Are you calling my waitress a liar? Because I can bring her over here and we can have it out!". At that point, I almost choked on my food as I could not believe my ears! He proceeded to march off towards his waitress. About 5 minutes later, he came back to the table - took the extra plate of nachos - and didn't say a word. The next time the waitress came to our table, she was so apologetic - and we told her we were so sorry that she had to work for such a nasty man! Good customer service is certainly not his forte, and I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with this man.

I ate the fish and chips every time we were there. The food was great although lots of fat/weight producing calories. One meal more than consumes my daily allowance. They need an alternative to the FF pots such as slaw, green salad, turnip greens or other healthy veggies. Otherwise, all the patrons will become obese because the food tastes and is so good that the patrons will clean their plates.

This restaurant is far and away the best food in Tobermory. All you can eat Fish and Chips, Excellent Ribs and Chicken, fantastic Pasta, kids eat for a Tooney! Three varieties of fish available, including local whitefish, generous servings, cooked to perfection! An over the top theatrical staff of pirates, doing their swashbuckling best to entertain while making sure you are enjoying the absolutely freshest,best prepared food in town. Don't waste your time elsewhere. This local establishment has over thirty years of experience in producing a deliciously memorable dining experience, consistently and within your budget.

the customer service was deplorable. the manager of the hall treated the event as if it were a highschool dance. yelling at patrons to not go upstairs, when they were only unaware where the bathrooms were. a friend of ours left her camera on her dinner plate and the plate was cleared. when we asked the manager to please help us find it (as we are not allowed in the kitchen) she literally yelled at us saying they are not to blame. we were not blaming, we were asking for assistance in finding it. when our family decided not to drive home after a few drinks, we call the next day to inquire about our vehicle, and are advised it will be towed. i would rather have taken the chance driving home then have my car towed and pay the pound. the manager is a witch of a woman and should not be in the customer service industry...especially involved in weddings. so much for a happy celebration.

Love this place! Can't wait to go back We really enjoyed this place. The food, service and atmosphere makes for a great date spot. The goat cheese salad and blue cheese burger was superb. A nice experience and a great find. Would we return. Absolutely.

The best restaurant in St. Jacob !!! The quality of the menu, the friendly service with a smile that is exactly what you get at the Benjamin Inn. We just been there and we recommend this restaurant to everybody. We stayed few days so we had soup, salad, wrap sandwich, beef, seafood, gelato, each meal was a feast !!!

I had the chicken/mushroom pot pie in a creamy gravy (so they say on the menu)last night and it was horrific. It was dry and shrivelled up, with not one mushroom and not one ounce of gravy in the pie. The vegetables on the side were dry, taken straight from the steamer and put onto the plate, and the 3 red whole potatoes on the side, were again plain with not one iota of butter, herb, nothing. Is the cook possibly a summer student? We were there last week as well for a friends going away get-together, and a few of us had the fried calamari, and again, they were chewy, and hardly enough on the plate for the outrageous price they charged for them. Definitely, not the place to eat. The only thing going for this place is the outdoor patio. I cannot understand how the owner of this establishment would allow such horrible food to be served and actually charge for it? Definitely the worst food in all of Bloor West Village, and a must for a new chef and Restaurant Makeover.

Words can not express how amazing this past Saturday's visit was. We attended a dear friends wedding, and was just amazed at how well put together the whole day went. Kudo's to the team at the Caledon inn. We will be back, sooner rather then later.

Very small, yet overpriced portions. Not only were they small, it looked cheap and thrown together. I ordered beef tacos and refried beans. The cup of beans was tiny and barely lukewarm, I asked for grated cheese to melt in the beans, the cheese didnt melt. I was so dissatisfied with this meal, I should have been full afterwards, since we did order 3 plates of nachos and guacamole between 5 of us as an appetizer. These plates were also tiny and overpriced. I ended up going down the street for a sandwich afterwards because I was still hungry. I will never eat there again. They could have a trendy little restaurant if they put in some effort.

resturant was neat and clean and well organized, the food was definately quality..... but service from the waitress we had was horrible. Never have i ever had to ask for my change from any resturant, but this was a first. and the single washroom (whole resturant, one toilet) had some cleaning issues.

We a been to Schmidtsville on many ocassions typically you are greeted with a line up but things seem to move along. Our most recent trip August 19/10 we experienced awful service from our server. We ordered the meals and she forgot to bring the included cole slaw. Could not even get her attention to ask until the end of the meal. Coffee was forgot and a request for some sour cream was forgotten. Funny how many plesant experiences can be forgotten by one bad experience. The cooked veggies were cold and the taste of the pan fried fish bland. Probally will not be rushing back to eat there any time soon.

I went to Pizza Hut Aug.9/2010, I ordered spaghetti & meatsauce and my teenage daughter ordered a pizza. I enquired about the sauce after 3 bites of my meal. My spaghetti sauce has pork instead of beef. I've never even heard of that, its NOT mentioned on their menu and I'm allergic to pork. My daughter finds hair in he...r first piece of pizza, and she is sick immediately. I ask for the manager, she demands that we pay for the whole bill. I told her to call the police because I was leaving and I'm not paying the bill. I`m sick in the parking lot, just as I`m getting into my car, after not paying the bill. What a sad excuse for a business!! Has ANYBODY ever heard of pork being substituted for beef on their spaghetti before?????? Well, I guess I learned a lesson,from now on, I am going to ask what is in everything I order from a restaurant from now on.

The food was O.K. but it took FOREVER to get anything sent over to the table! It was a Monday evening (wasn't busy) and there could not have been any more than six tables in the entire restaurant...... The service we received HAD to be THE SLOWEST, I have ever received! The food took over 90 minutes to get to our table...my garden salad was extremly salty, my Seabass was over-cooked and my husband's chicken breast was overcooked as well.... We will likely not return to this establishment in the future.....

We dined there Saturday night, to start off the plate they gave us to eat off of was dirty with grease. When we did get our meal my husband was given a shirveled piece of leg which obviously was well overdone and must have been sitting somewhere for a long time. My ribs which I was looking forward to, also was dried out and there was no apology for the bad food. We paid $88.00 for 3 of us and I will not be returning to Swiss chalet and they certainly won't get my recommendation, too bad, because we had a supper like this in Brockville and I couldn't say enough about the good food.

What a terrible experience!! We were a group of 8, and went for supper on Satrurday, August 14, 2010. The waitress looked like she hated her job; she was rude and not helpfull at all. After waiting for 40 minutes we get our apetizers (nachos), and after another 1/2Hr we get our food. Steaks were terrible: dry and overcooked. Fish was overcooked as well. We spent about $80/couple and I truly regret it. The manu itself is boring and dull. The decor is nice, but it did not match the rest. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL !!!!

Wee had lunch here this weekend and were very impressed not only with the meal but with the excellent staff and the cleaness. I would highly recommend Mylar and Loretas to anyone looking for excellent food. We would not hesitate to come back here. The best food we had during our trip.

We had breakfast at Lorraine's restaurant during the Step and Fiddlers competition August 12,13,14 the restaurant was busy but we were promptly looked after in a friendly and timely fashion. We were offered coffee refills a number of times. Food was good no complaints at all. The atmopshere very friendly most of the people were locals that were known to the waitresses by first name. We are frequent visitors to Sturgeon Falls since my in laws live there and we have highly recommended Lorraine's for a good home cooked friendly serviced establishment. Keep up the good work...

The Lambeth Lions Club were happy to have the room set out for us. We were not advised as to the menu or buffett. Some chose after a time to do the buffett. Some did order off the menu, in due coarse.We have had better food. We had to ask many times for our bills. It appears the bar, for just a few, was more important. I don't think we will be back.

Was down for a night in Niagara Falls - friend told me that Garrison's was pretty good. Bought the classic steak sub (it had fried onions). Possibly the best sub I have ever had (especially since most subs i eat are from subway or Mr. Sub, which are mediocre at best). I should mention that i was sober when i had the sub, since all subs taste good at the end of the night. The only downside is that i live in Toronto, so can't travel to Niagara Falls just for a sub. We have great ethnic foods in Toronto, but as for sub sandwiches, we have nothing in Toronto to compare to this place. Expect a line, but it is worth it. My friend had the chicken caesar wrap and he really liked it too.

Waiting is the only negative aspect of the experience. Sometimes, it can take up to an hour to get your food, but it's well worth it. I suggest ordering garlic fingers (easily the best I've ever had) during the wait. Completely authentic, made-from-scratch Italian dishes served in extremely generous portions leave you with two dinners: one that you eat at the restaurant and later on, the best leftovers you will ever eat. Everything is very modestly priced considering the amount of food you get and service is not hard to keep up on in such a small restaurant. The atmosphere is comfortable and intimate. I would highly recommend Piccolo's as a place to eat during a romantic evening. I really can't say enough good things about this truly wonderful local restaurant. Five stars.

My girlfriend and me visited Tiki Ming at the Pen Centre on August 6th, 2010 and got seperate dishes but both ate LoMein. Within ten minutes she was in the bathroom throwing up and eight hours later when I was home I started throwing up the meal as well.

We went to the Church Restaurant on August 5, expecting an excellent, albeit pricey, nouvelle cuisine meal. Restaurants compete on price, excellence of cuisine and service. This had none of the above. It was over-priced for the tiny portions, and one meal meal arrived completely cold. The cuisine looked interesting on the menu, but didn't deliver. The service was slow. The final coffee simply never arrived before we had to leave for a Stratford festival play. The house wine was vastly over-priced, even for those of us in Ontario accustomed to the normal gouging. In short, this restaurant needs a do-over. It offers nothing for the prices it charges or the claims it makes.

We use to frequent this facility when visiting the Hanover / Durham area but had not been there for a few years, it was always good in the past but when we visited recently it was terrible - I'm not sure if it's under new management but it was filthy dirty, windows, tables didn't look as if they'd been cleaned in weeks, and full of flies. My husband's burger even came without the burger inside and at $30.00 dollars for 2 adults and a child - pretty pathetic for a burger joint...Will never return !

The male manager here is some sort of wiered control freak and inpersonal. I was eating my supper here the other night and he decided to use his 'people skills' to embarass customers in front of everyone else. It totally put me off my food and, as we have children, we decided to leave earlier than expected because he antaganiszed this other couple at their table and kept coming back for a 'fight'. It was over a misunderstanding about him not understanding that they were camping and walking back to their boat (1 minute walk away). He kept demanding their car keys. All this was unnecessary and really upset my children. We went out for a quiet supper and had to put up with this. We eat out several times a week and have never witnessed anything like this before. He must have confronted them not once, but 6 times. It was horrible to watch. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. He said he owned the place and could do what he wanted. The place certainly cleared out fast enough after that. I don't think we'll ever go back. Some other table(s) tried to tell him to back off, but he wouldn't listen. Good luck to those of you who go because of the convenience (right on the lock when you are camping at the lock with your boat), but don't go with children. It was a very upsetting experience for them and all the other guests.

If you travel up to the Bruce or beyond you must make a stop at this place. we have been going to this place for 25 years or so. And the quality has remained the same. I am happy to report that I now take my children as my parents took us and we will continue to go as long as they are around. We are from Kitchener, and occationally we will drive up to Clifford just to go to the Redwood. The food is excellent the service is friendly and it is amazing that these people remember you !!

Recommended by someone at the annual St. George Garage Sale. Food and presentation was fantastic. Overall service was terrific considering it was busy which slowed things down. Place was clean and the servers made the atmosphere entertaining with their quick witty comments. Pricing was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food that we got. I would highly recommend this establishment and would certainly return when I'm in the area again.

I couldn't believe this place! I should have turned around as soon as I heard the guys on the patio saying F***, every other word! The table was sticky when we sat down; couldn't get the waitress' attention cuz she was too busy chatting it up at the end of the bar with some guy... Another server, a youngish guy, came in, so we thought things would improve. His appearance was terrible: staff shirt all wrinkled like it came out of the bottom of the laundry hamper! We later found out that he's the manager of the place - ugh! When we finally got food, it was horrendous!!! I'm usually not overly picky, but I will certainly not be returning to this place! I ordered a chicken Teriaky pizza, it was horrible. The chicken was dry, the bacon was burnt and it had no taste at all. The comment from the server was that many people complained about that specific order. After a lengthy discusion with the Manager, she only wanted to give me a $5.00 voucher for another visit. The Manager was very difficult to engage in what the issue was. I have never submitted a review nor have I ever told a restaurant that I would never be back. I will not be recommending this restaurant in Ottawa to anyone. Just to give you an example how Customer Service is in other places. Shortly after this incident, my family ate breakfast at a Truck Stop, they were extremely busy, however the Server recognized on her own that the food was cold and the quality perhaps wasn't the best. We didn't lodge a complaint, however the Server brought us a bill and discounted it by 50% at her own discretion. I will be back to eat at that establishment.

I was deeply disappointed at the fish and chip plate..I bragged to others how good the meal was..the meal that we got had more batter than fish....there were 8 of us and we all said the same thing...I wish that they would go back to the old recipe and have the Captain and Mate servings again...last years servings were much better

Excellent Pizza and Wings. Oh and the Nachos are huge & awesome. There prices are really good, not expensive for the amount of food you get. The only complaint I have is when your eating in the dining room you have to wait so long but it's so worth it when it comes. By far the best pizza/wings in the Niagara region.

I’m disappointed to have to write this review for a restaurant I used to like. I’ve eaten there a number of times (both at the restaurant and take out). However, earlier this week my wife ordered take out from Diwa. About 30 minutes after eating, she became violently ill with severe stomach cramps, diarrhea and vomiting. After the food was out of her system she was fine. I called and spoke to the manager. I said that I’d been to and enjoyed the restaurant in the past but that my wife had become ill after eating there and that I was disappointed. The manager said that no other customers had complained about the dishes we’d ordered that night. She said that perhaps my wife was ill because she had not washed her hands or because her system couldn’t handle the ingredients. (My wife eats Indian food all the time, including these exact dishes from Diwa – this clearly wasn’t the problem). She said that she would refund our credit card, but she didn’t understand why I didn’t bring the uneaten food back to the restaurant so that they could “examine the ingredients” and was skeptical as to why my wife didn’t go to the doctor if she was so sick. She then told me that they would not serve me at their restaurant anymore and that I should “learn a lesson” from the situation. The lesson I have learned is this – do not, under any circumstances, eat at a restaurant that makes you sick, and if you complain (politely!!), implies you are dishonest, and says you need to “learn a lesson”. It was offensive.

When you are driving on this side of Alqonquin Park you don't expect much more then pretty scenery and good people - This lodge has all that and amazing food! They have two treagar smokers, a huge BBQ and man do they turn out some great dishes. The ambiance was great - one of those places you would go for a casual celebration of an anniversary etc. or just to enjoy some good food. Can't say enough - check it out!

When I looked at the hot table I noticed ALL the food was uncovered! Even after that experiance, the food was still uncovered! I've ordered large trays for parties and such, I trusted it to be a clean Portuguese place, but I would trust McDonalds more then that place. I'll never go back there again!

My husband, son & I were in Santa Fe for a meal on Saturday July 3/10 at 6:30pm. We usually dine here quite frequently however this time the server was extremely rude. Don't know her name but had blond hair and glasses. She refused to come to our table to ask if we needed anything, was totally upset because we has asked for fajita shells to accommadate the food. The shells were so small you could hardly fit the food in, she first was upset, blamed it on the girl making the shells, then blamed it on the machine. Finally she stormed off saying she would get the manager which she never did. Finally we got the proper size shells, saying this was the best she could do. We ended up going to the bar to get a drink because she would not come back to our table. We had to finally get up to leave before she would get our bill. I normally don't complain but we have done 3 showers and a 80th birthday party at Santa Fe and after this experience it will be a long time before me or my family ever come back

I have been back to this restaurant this past week, and I love it. I remember visiting this restaurant when the manager was a Gerry Mullon, and was not impressed. He represented the restaurant as the Manager, yet he had bad hygeine, and his hair was greasy, and unbrushed, his breath stunk to high heaven. His clothes were filthy, and was wearing street clothes. I felt so bad for the staff that worked at this location that day, and vowed I would never return, but just recently did. Honestly, this is one of the very best restaurant experiences we have ever had and we could not believe how lucky we were to have it within a 15 minute drive from our home. Four of us each had different menu choices and were very, very pleased with the food, the service, the great atmosphere and the feeling of being welcome. No snotty service or being treated like an inconvenience in this place. They actually seem to be pleased that you have come to eat there. As we were driving home, we were all raving about how fabulous it was and how we wished we could eat there more often. The prices are a bit beyond "our" regular budget but they are still more than reasonable overall. Oh yeah, and the Pina Colada was yummy and actually had real alcohol in it. What a refreshing change.

When the manager came out, he said that even though we were in the casual seating area, that we could still order off of the "formal" dining room menu. How were we able to order from the formal dining room menu, but not sit in the formal dining room? I don't understand. It was very disappointing, to say the least. The food that we ordered came back cold and basically tasteless. We will not go back.

The owners were yelling at these other customers right in front of us over a problem with the debit machine. I felt so sorry for them, they looked completely humiliated. I have been getting steak subs from here for years, at least once every two weeks. They are very expensivem, but used to be worth the price. I order my sub today, the killer- however i notice the bag is at least half the weight. I het home and the bread is no longer the big loafs. Its a regular crusty sub bun. I call them, and I get a lady with an attitude telling me that they switched their buns over a year ago. Bull. i eat there all the time. never again. People, save your money. Almost 17 dollars for a sub, and they are half the width and size now. And don't bother complaining. theyll treat you like garbage and talk to you like they dont care what you think.

A great little restaurant with a small town charm. The entrée prices are fantastic, and the service is always quick and friendly. Get there early on weekends if you want breakfast; the place fills up FAST! If you're stopping in for lunch and you like something a little spicy, try their Mexican Burger Platter. A massive burger topped with jalapeño peppers and salsa, served alongside a generous portion of fries, all for under $8! My only gripe is that the appetizer menu is rather overpriced in comparison to the rest of the menu. Living just 15 minutes away from Russell Restaurant, it's been my first choice from day 1!

Louis Restaurant is an acceptable place to eat. The atmosphere is nice and tends to be quite loud. Haugen's is an institution and fabled to be the one that Swiss Chalet copied their style from. The sauce is different no doubt, almost like spaghetti sauce, but that is what makes them unique. On a recent holiday in canada,we stopped in fergus on our way back to toronto. WE were browsing in the Fountainhesd ,looking for vitamins, when we decided to stay and have lunch.Our lunch was the soup special with a wrap. The food was of a high quality and very wholesome and we thought excellent value. We both decided it was the nicest lunch that we had on our trip.The staff were extremely helpful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Would highly recommend the fountain head if you are in the fergus/elora area.Although it didnt apply to us we noticed that the cafe provided gluten and dairy free meals.
